Prime Minister John Key's cup of tea with John Banks has sent the odds of the ACT's candidate's chance of winning Epsom soaring, according to iPredict.

Mr Banks' chance of winning the seat now stands at 79%, up from 52% two weeks ago.

In other market movements, Winston Peter's chances of returning from the out-of-parliament wilderness have increased to 30% with his New Zealand First party tipped to win 3.8% of the party vote.

Taking party vote expectations and translating them into parliament, National would win 60 MPs, Labour 26, the Greens 14, ACT 4, Mana 3, the Maori Party 3 and UnitedFuture just one.

Such a result would allow National to govern with the support of ACT, a situation Mr Key said last week he would "not be unhappy" with.
