Private Bin was plagued by car trouble last week but one positive to come out of taking public transport was that two vouchers were received on the back of a bus ticket.
The vouchers offered a free beverage that would be given when another was purchased at Esquires coffee chain and a halfprice meal at popular Auckland CBD vegetarian café Revive.
On closer inspection, however, the vouchers had both expired on May 31 despite being issued on July 29.
The vouchers are part of Superdocket's business, which also prints vouchers on the back of supermarket receipts.
Superdockets director Tony Vercauteren said he had not received any other similar complaints but Private Bin knows New Zealanders are notoriously bad at complaining.
Private Bin asked over the phone and in writing what the policy was surrounding when vouchers could be issued before their expiry dates but Mr Vercauteren did not respond.
“How many buses are there out there? People make mistakes,” Mr Vercauteren said, in a not exactly brilliant display of customer service.
