Court action over Ramsay's cancelled events appearances dropped.
Auckland events promoter Duco has called off legal action against TV chef Gordon Ramsay having settled the dispute out of court.
Duco was suing Mr Ramsay for $2.1 million after the Hell’s Kitchen star twice cancelled his appearance at its sold-out charity events in 2010.
Court action was set down for August, but the parties met and resolved the matter in Auckland yesterday.
The “mutually agreeable” financial settlement includes a donation of $100,000 to Napier school girl Matisse Reid – who was to be the beneficiary of the cancelled charity events - and the trust Chance2Eat.
Mr Ramsay charged Duco $100,000 to appear at two sold-out charity events, in Wellington and Auckland, that were to raise money for Matisse Reid, to help her get treatment for an intestinal disorder.
But he cancelled a week before the June 2010 event after his mother suffered a heart attack.
He then cancelled on the October rescheduled date due to business matters at home in the UK.
