Revenue Minister Peter Dunne wants feedback on suggested changes to the rules around asset depreciation.
He said today the review included non-residential building fit-outs, which was announced in the May budget.
The paper suggests an option to clarify the law on when non-residential fit-outs can be depreciated separately from the building.
"The tax system aims to impose taxes on investment in as neutral a manner as possible to remain fair," Mr Dunne said.
"For this reason, it is appropriate to examine these depreciation issues and address them."
The paper is on www.taxpolicy.ird.govt.nz.
