Rick Barker will be Labour's new senior whip while Sue Moroney and David Shearer will take up the education roles, Labour leader Phil Goff has announced.
The positions were left vacant by the resignation of Darren Hughes last week following sex scandal allegations.
Moroney takes over as general education spokesperson. Shearer will become tertiary education spokesman. Ross Robertson will take over Barker's role as associate speaker.
Hughes resigned after a police complaint laid against him by an 18-year-old student was made public.
Hughes has denied any wrongdoing.
He was chief whip and education spokesman, and since he left Steve Chadwick has been acting chief whip and David Shearer acting education spokesman.
Shearer was tipped to become tertiary education spokesman and Moroney, current spokeswoman for early childhood education, was predicted to possibly take primary schools as well.
The changes mirror the Government's split portfolios, where Steven Joyce is Tertiary Education Minister and Anne Tolley is Education Minister.
Under Labour's rules, caucus appoints the chief whip, who is responsible for discipline, and Goff decides who holds portfolios.
