$60,000 app from Wellington's Paperkite gets a refresh.
The government will launch an update of its NZ Budget app for smartphones and tablets on Thursday at 2pm, Finance Minister Bill English says.
The update will feature Budget 2013 data, plus interactive content that allows users to drill down into the Budget spending, and to enter their annual income details to see how much tax they pay and where it is spent on their behalf.
The update will include access to the full set of Budget documents including estimates, and will deliver monthly economic updates from Treasury.
The app debuted with last year's budget.
It was developed by Wellington's PaperKite for $59,000, Mr English's office told NBR. It was funding via $100,000 in savings from cut-backs in the printed version of the Budget.
During Budget month last year, the app was downloaded 45,000 times.
The NZ Budget app is available to download free from Apple and Android app stores and further information and links will be available from the Treasury’s website www.treasury.govt.nz/budget/app.
