Following in the footsteps of the Capital Markets Development Taskforce, the 2025 Taskforce and the Welfare Working Group, the Savings Working Group is the latest advisory group set up by the government to deal with a political issue.
National has recently raised concerns about New Zealand’s savings record, alleging New Zealanders aren’t saving enough.
One of the more controversial topics likely to be addressed by the group is compulsory saving, which both parties have been making noises about recently.
