Entrepreneur of the Year winner announced

Bill Buckley, from Buckley Systems, is the winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award. 

He will represent New Zealand in Monte Carlo in June next year, competing alongside the world’s best entrepreneurs.

The Auckland-based Buckley Systems, founded by Mr Buckley in 1986, manufactures and supplies precision electromagnets to 90% of the world’s ion implant industry.

The ion implant industry makes silicon chips, LED TVs, touch phones, iPhones and iPads.

In addition to the overall winnner, the Entrepreneur of the Year awards also recognise success in specific areas, including products, services, technology and young entrepreneur.

Linda Jenkinson of LesConcierges was joint winner of the master entrepreneur category with Mr Buckley.

Previous winners include Sir Michael Hill of Michael Hill Internation and Sir Richard Taylor of Weta Workshop.
