Executive appointments


Recent appointments at Kensington Swan, Positively Wellington Tourism, Medicines NZ, Film Auckland, The Marsden Fund, Brookfields, Harcourts and elsewhere.

Positively Wellington Tourism has appointed Tiana Rakete New Zealand events coordinator, with responsibilities ranging from marketing New Zealand’s biggest dress-up party, promoting the Brancott Estate World of Wearable Art Awards Show and marketing the Visa Wellington On a Plate. Selena Murray will take on Wellngton’s i-Site manager duties, while the manager is on maternity leave. Olivia Dean has been appointed marketing projects coordinator, following her completion of a master of entrepreneurship and diploma of event management and public relations. Jess Wilson has been appointed international marketing co-ordinator after over two years as operations manager for Seal Coast Safari and John’s Hop On Hop Off City Tour. Jessica Williams has been appointed communications executive. Ms Williams was previously with Four Winds Communications.

Kensington Swan has appointed Janine Smith an independent board member and has promoted Grant Hewisonto special counsel. Ms Smith has been a chief executive, executive director and independent director with companies in the commercial, arts and education sectors in New Zealand and internationally. She is a a director of the Warehouse Group and chairs McLarens Young NZ. Mr Hewison is a member of the firm’s local government and environment team.

Medicines NZ has appointed Heather Roy chairwoman. Ms Roy has a background in politics, having been an opposition MP for almost a decade, during which time she was a health select committee member. Before her political career, Mrs Roy managed clinical trials for a major pharmaceutical company for 10 years.

Film Auckland has appointed Harry Harrison screen production attraction specialist. As co-founder of location scouting and management company Red Locations, Mr Harrison has been involved with international and local feature films and TV dramas including 30 Days of Night, Spartacus; Blood and Sand, Sione’s Wedding 2 and Emperor.

The Marsden Fund Council has elected Canterbury University professor Juliet Gerrard chairwoman. Ms Gerrard replaces Professor Peter Hunter. Professor Gerrard has been a Marsden Fund Council member since 2009. She obtained her doctorate in biological chemistry from Oxford University, before being appointed as a research scientist at Corp & Food Research in 1993. She has served as chairwoman of the Cellular, Molecular and Physiological Biology Marsden Panel and deputy chairwoman of the Marsden Council.

Hitachi Data Systems has appointed Keith Roscarel principal consultant for its media and entertainment business across New Zealand and Australia. He has over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry.

Brookfields has appointed Natalie Lord to its litigation and dispute resolution team as solicitor.

Harcourts Group has appointed Barry Kilkelly Wellington franchise development manager. Mr Kilkelly entered the real estate industry with Harcourts in 2004 after a long career in the retail motor trade industry predominantly within the luxury car business. As an agent, he has always finished in the top 3 and was No 1 for his office in 2010/11.
