Specialist lenders’ book boosted by jump in business loans
Loan applications and approvals are up, says a new report, but impairments are also at their highest levels in five years.

Business loans accounted for almost half of the $22.3 billion in loans on specialist lenders’ books last year, according to the Financial Services Federation.
The FSF, whose 100 members cover about half of New Zealand's specialist lending, said business loans were at $10.24b at the end of 2025,
