Fletcher distribution boss Beveridge resigns

He will step down at the end of next month to pursue personal interests.

Wed, 11 Jul 2018

Fletcher Building head of distribution division John Beveridge has resigned after four years in the job.

Mr Beveridge will step down as chief executive of Fletcher's distribution unit at the end of next month "to pursue personal interests," the company says in a statement.

He is staying on to help smooth the transition period and his successor will be made in due course.

"John has made an enormous contribution to Fletcher Building in a number of senior roles, including Pacific Steel, Golden Bay Cement, and his most recent role leading the PlaceMakers business," group chief executive Mark Adamson says. "We wish him well for the future as he takes on fresh challenges."

The distribution unit boosted first-half sales 9.6 percent to $424 million, leading to a 13 percent gain in earnings to $17 million, with trading at its PlaceMakers outlets improving in the second quarter, led by Auckland and Christchurch.

The shares gained 0.7 percent to $8.47 today.
