The G20 remains the best way to deal with the aftermath of the global economic crisis, says Prime Minister John Key.

Speaking to the Korea-New Zealand business roundtable in Seoul this morning, Mr Key said New Zealand was supportive of the G20 as the pre-eminent forum for providing direction and maintaining confidence following the economic crisis.

South Korea will host the G20 summit in November.

Mr Key met G20 organising committee chairman Sakong ll this morning.

He also discussed the G20 when he met South Korean President Lee Myung-bak yesterday.

"I appreciated President Lee's perspective on the summit," Mr Key said.

"I especially welcome the fact that despite pressures to expand its agenda the G20 remains focused on dealing with the aftermath of the global economic crisis."

He said the outcomes from previous G20 summits had been consistent with New Zealand's policy objectives.
