Disgraced MP David Garrett will resign from Parliament today and reveal the inside story of the strife within the ACT Party.
Mr Garrett resigned from ACT last week after telling Parliament he used the identity of a dead infant to get a false passport 26 years ago.
Since then he has been under intense political pressure to resign from Parliament as well, and he will do that by sending a letter to Speaker Lockwood Smith.
Mr Garrett has given an exclusive interview to the Truth Weekender newspaper, which will publish it today.
TV3 News reported last night Mr Garrett would reveal the "dark forces" within ACT and would "take a shot" at former deputy leader Heather Roy.
Mrs Roy lost the deputy leadership after clashing with party leader Rodney Hide, and was further damaged when her adviser Simon Ewing-Jarvie leaked explosive documents which had been prepared to defend her position.
Mr Garrett's past was revealed by leaked information and he is expected to say the real target was Mr Hide, who knew about the passport fraud before the 2008 election when Mr Garrett was chosen as a candidate.
Mr Garrett was prosecuted in 2005 and was discharged without conviction and given permanent name suppression, which was lifted last week at his request.
Mr Garrett was ACT's law and order spokesman, a strong campaigner for tough sentences and an opponent of name suppression.
Since it was revealed that he was discharged without conviction and given name suppression, the Labour Party has accused him of hypocrisy.
