GDP data likely to show the economy losing momentum

Government probably hopes net migration will ease of its own accord.

Growth in the economy probably slowed in the March quarter to a rate a little below the Reserve Bank’s latest forecast, reflecting the slowing housing market and uncertainty about government policy.

The GDP data is due for release on Thursday and the market is expecting it will show growth
