Legal action from MediaWorks, TVNZ, Spark and Sky TV hasn't stopped an offshore push by Bypass Network Services Ltd (BNSL).
The company says it has just signed IndonesianCloud to sell its global mode service into Indonesia.
Billed as "the world's first wholesale geo-unblocking solution", global mode lets all customers of an ISP beat territory restrictions on services like Netflix US and BBC iPlayer.
The deal also covers BNSL's second product, BuddyGuard — a product for parents that monitors children's time online and blocks inappropriate content.
Last week, BNSL chief executive Patrick Jordan-Smith told NBR his company has signed its two overseas customers. He would not name the companies, or their location, but said both were small ISPs.
Mr Jordan-Smith says the European Union's move to eliminate geoblocking has created a major business opportunity for his company, and that it is fielding multiple enquires from EU countries.
He declined to discuss financials, but BNSL commercial director Matthew Jackson told NBR the company had been profitable from day one (its first global mode customer, Slingshot, went live in June 2013).
"Our forecast growth based on international businesss would stick us into the Deloittte Fast 50 quite easily, and I've been involved in a couple of Deloitte Fast 50 companies before so we know what that looks like." (Mr Jackson has previously held roles with SMX, VoucherMate, Kordia and Fonterra, among others.)
