The Treasury is asking the private sector to tell it how to save money and improve efficiency across the state sector.

Tender documents released by the government today ask for ideas on “How can we make savings and/or improve efficiency and effectiveness across the State sector?”

While short on specifics, Treasury says “submissions should indicate the agencies that would most benefit from adoption of the idea or would be natural leads to management implementation.”

Dollar values were not included but in last year’s budget, the government allocated $3 million to find ideas.

Today's document does not say what type of organsation should submit ideas but it is categorised under management consulting services.
