The Green Party received more big political donations than any other party last year because their MPs donate a percentage of their income back to the party.
Figures released yesterday by Election New Zealand show the Greens received almost $150,000. All but $19,500 of that was donated by the party's MPs.
The figures showed all contributions that exceeded $10,000 as must be disclosed under current electoral finance law.
Greens co-leader Metiria Turei said all party's MPs donated 10 percent of their gross income to the party.
The remaining $19,500 was from Stuart Bramhall of New Plymouth.
ACT had $20,000 donated from The Virtual Bucket Ltd in Christchurch, while Juken Nissho Ltd donated $15,000 to the Progressive Party.
Labour and the Maori Party received donations from their leaders. Phil Goff gave $10,063 and Pita Sharples $11,142 respectively.
The National Party recorded no donations over the $10,000 disclosure threshold.
