Minister for International Climate Change Negotiations Tim Groser will be a special guest at a meeting of the world's largest emitters in Washington DC next week.
Mr Groser, currently in Japan for this Apec (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) meetings this week, was invited to the Major Economies Forum (MEF) after chairing a recent climate change ministerial meeting in Mexico City.
The MEF is a meeting of the 17 largest emitting countries. The meeting would be held next Wednesday and Thursday.
Mr Groser would return to New Zealand next Sunday.
