Hart loses crown as Australasia's wealthiest
New Zealand's richest man Graeme Hart has been overtaken by two Australian mining billionaires, according to Forbes' list of the world's richest people.

New Zealand’s richest man Graeme Hart has dropped more than 40 places on Forbes’ annual list of the world’s richest people, despite his estimated net worth rising.
Mr Hart was ranked 185th on this year’s Forbes Billionaires list with an estimated net worth of $US5.5 billion ($7.5 billion), up from last year’s valuation of $US5.3 billion.
However, he slipped from 144th place last year as other billionaires saw their wealth rise quicker after the global financial crisis.
The only other New Zealanders on the list were brothers Richard and Christopher Chandler, who ranked 288 ($US3.8 billion) and 879 ($US1.4 billion) respectively.
Mr Hart has also been usurped as Australasia’s richest person, the title now belonging to mining mogul Georgina Rinehart, who saw her wealth skyrocket from $US2 billion to $US9 billion in one year, landing her at 100 on the list.
Fellow mining entrepreneur Andrew Forrest was the second richest Aussie with $US6.7 billion, placing him at 145.
Mexican Carlos Slim Helu has widened as lead as the world’s richest man, his net worth of $US74 billion well ahead of Microsoft founder Bill Gates on $US56 billion and Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffett on $US50 billion.
