Christchurch-based Hand Multimedia has bagged an international award for Excellence in Learning from Brandon Hall Research for its new e-learning development product.
Roleplay is an online e-learning solution, that helps corporate trainers and training designers to create and deliver “people skills” training content without having technology skills.
It also provides detailed reporting to help measure the success of the learning, calculates a company’s return on investment and facilitates continuous improvement through immediate trainee feedback.
Air New Zealand, The Warehouse and Bank of New Zealand are among companies to have joined the Roleplay pilot programme.
The company plans to launch the product commercially as software as a service in early 2011.
Hand Multimedia chief executive Peter Coldicott said “years of hard work” that have gone into developing the software have paid off.
“There is nothing else like this on the market today [or] anywhere in the world. It speaks volumes of the exceptional talent that we have here in Christchurch,” said Mr Coldicott.
The software can be deployed to a range of platforms including the web, corporate Learning Management Systems, and in the future, mobile devices.
Brandon Hall Research, which has been providing independent research reports and expert advice on using technology in learning since 1992, runs the Excellence in Learning awards program each year to pinpoint the best in innovative content, technology and initiatives in workplace learning.
