ANALYSIS: Government has endorsed a deal to transfer its monopoly to an overseas provider with obvious low compliance standards.
To put it bluntly, there are some games – and some sports – that are so boring no-one would play or watch without a bet on.
There may be room for argument about which ones fall into that category but in a few cases the game and the gambling are so co-dependent they are joined at the hip.
