Police want to hear from anyone approached online by the Upper Hutt man.
Police want to hear from anyone who has been approached on Facebook by a 20-year-old Upper Hutt man who uses the fake name "Nick Davis" on the social network.
Detective Kylee Cusin says, "The suspect has created a fictitious presence under the false name of "Nick Davis" for the purpose of facilitating these communications".
Police tell NBR ONLINE 'Nick Davis' was arrested at his workplace last week after making inappropriate online advances to two 12 year-old girls - one from Lower Hutt, the other from the upper North Island.
The arrest occurred after an investigation initiated after the girls' families complained to police (the girls themselves might also have some explaining to do; Facebook has a minimum required age of 13 - although it asks for no proof of age).
Facebook was contacted as part of the investigation, a police comms manager told NBR, with police requesting "Nick Davis" account be blocked and details of his offending be provided.
Any young females who have had communication with "Nick Davis" are asked to contact Detective Cusin at the Hutt Valley Police or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
"Nick Davis" will appear in Lower Hutt District Court tomorrow. Poice were not immediately able to say on what charges.
