AT rail, bus fares up 23% since pandemic
The fourth annual hike in succession comes amid passenger train disruption and cuts to available parking in the city.

Auckland commuters will face an average fare hike of 5.1% to board a city-run bus or train from February 1, taking escalations to 23% since April 2023.
That’s made up of average price increases of 6.5% that year, 6.2% in 2024, and 5.2% last February.
