Beam e-scooters will disappear from Auckland roads and pathways tonight after breaches of its licence serious enough to warrant police action, the council says.

Auckland Council says it has cancelled micro-mobility company Beam’s licence to operate in New Zealand’s largest city from midnight tonight after it deployed as many as 2000 scooters in the city, about 40% more than allowed under its licence agreement.
