The Institute of Financial Advisers has announced a new professional partnership with fund manager NZ Funds Management as financial adviser regulations kick in.

Under the initiative and three-year partnership agreement NZ Funds will become the IFA’s inaugural “Professional Development Partner”.

NZ Funds will contribute professional expertise to IFA members in the area of financial advice including investment and behavioural finance.

IFA chief executive Peter Lee said, “It’s great timing given the increasing needs of members as they head into the required period of authorisation.

"NZ Funds has an impressive amount of expertise and resources which will now be available to our members and will further enhance their skills. NZ Funds is also a great fit for our membership given that we strive for excellence, not just competence”.

The partnership will enable the IFA to further develop its existing professional development programmes to members currently delivered via roadshows and its annual conference.

NZ Funds chief executive Richard James said the company had been a long time supporter of professional advisers and today’s announcement reflected that support.

“We are delighted to be announcing this partnership with the IFA.

“We believe that in working with the Institute we can help its members continue to strive to be at the forefront of industry thinking which will assist not only members of the institute, but the financial adviser industry as a whole.”
