Auckland International Airport said international passenger traffic grew in June driven by growing traffic from Asia.
International passenger traffic, excluding transits, increased 6.7% in June and 2.4% in the 12 months ending June 10. Including transits, traffic rose 5.5% in June.
"Passenger traffic from Asia was up year-on-year. Traffic from Japan was up – aided by recent airline schedule changes resulting in additional capacity into Auckland," the airport operator said.
Domestic passenger traffic rose 4.3% in June compared with the corresponding month last year.
