With only four days to go until the general election, iPredict is forecasting National to fail to secure a majority in parliament.

As currently forecast, parliament is expected to be comprised of 60 National MPs, 36 Labour MPs, 14 Green MPs, 4 Act MPs, 3 Mana MPs, 3 Maori Party MPs and the solitary Peter Dunne from UnitedFuture.

Such a result would require National to be support by one of the Greens, Act, Maori or UnitedFuture parties to form a government

The market for the return of New Zealand First to parliament is iPredict's most heavily traded and party leader Winston Peters is given a 40% chance of exceeding the 5% party vote threshold.
