Kiwi leaps to pre-US election levels after higher than expected CPI data

The New Zealand dollar jumped sharply against the Aussie and US dollars following this morning’s higher-than expected inflation figures.
Consumer price index (CPI) inflation hit 1.3% for the year to December, rising 0.4% in the December quarter – ahead of most economists’ expectations.
