To no-one’s surprise, Labour yesterday announced it plans to make KiwiSaver compulsory.

That has been long signalled, by a series of nudges, winks and feints.

There was a surprise though: the move to raise the pension age from 65 to 67, gradually, over 12 years from 2020.
