New Plymouth specialist John Auld appointed new chairman.
Justice Minister Judith Collins has appointed New Plymouth lawyer John Auld as the new chairman of the Real Estate Agents Authority.
The REAA is an independent Crown entity that regulates New Zealand’s real estate industry.
Mr Auld will take over from current chairwoman, Kristy McDonald QC, who has served in the position since 2009.
Mr Auld has been a member of the REAA since its establishment in 2009. He is an experienced commercial and property lawyer, and also has wide experience in corporate governance.
Mr Auld is a past president of the Taranaki District Law Society and served as a Disputes Tribunal referee from 2009-12.
He was formerly deputy chairman of the Taranaki District Health Board and deputy chairman of the Western Institute of Technology.
Mr Auld is chairman of Port Taranaki.
