Disney productions lead new high in global box office takings
Movie audiences flocked to the Marvel blockbusters and several sequels.
Preliminary figures from the movie business show global box office takings hit an all-time high of $US41.7 billion (unadjusted for inflation).
Takings in North America of $US11.9b were also a record, with the Disney studio accounting for nearly a fifth of that figure.
