What is described as a "sensational selection" of male nudes from the James Wallace Arts Trust collection goes on show in Auckland from February.
The Wallace collection holds a wealth of male nudes by both male and female New Zealand artists, spanning more than five decades, showing a broad range of practices and concerns with the subject.
The exhibition features works by well known artists, as well as recent acquisitions by some of the country’s most exciting emerging and contemporary artists.
Toss Woollaston, Mary McIntyre, Terry Stringer, Dick Frizzell, Euan MacLeod and Nigel Brown are among the established masters whose male nudes feature in the show, alongside recent works by younger talents such as Andrew McLeod, Sam Harrison, Catherine Carter and Young Sun Han.
The exhibition opens on February 4 and runs until April 14 at The Pah Homestead, TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre,72 Hillsborough Road, Auckland.
