Foreign Minister Murray McCully heads to Australia today for bi-annual talks with his counterpart, Kevin Rudd.
Mr McCully said the meeting was a chance to discuss the foreign policy agenda in depth, and to set shared goals for the trans-Tasman relationship.
"Our discussions in Canberra will cover regional and global issues, and how we can further improve cooperation with our partners, including in the Pacific Islands Forum."
The last meeting of the foreign ministers was in February, when Stephen Smith held the post for Australia.
