New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, headless since the departure of chief executive Tim Gibson last December, has appointed a new boss.
Australian president of global paper manufacturer Norske Skog Peter Chrisp will take up the reins of the country’s economic development agency on August 23.
Economic Development Minister Gerry Brownlee said Mr Chrisp was chosen because he has the combination of export and international business experience, strategic leadership capability, commercial acumen and political insight to work with NZTE’s diverse national and international stakeholders – essentially political speak for the most PC candidate.
“He is an experienced exporter and his work globally has exposed him to major projects across the public and private sector,” Mr Brownlee said.
