Deloitte New Zealand has appointed Thomas Pippos as the firm’s new chief executive.

The appointment, which was effective as of last Friday, sees Mr Pippos replace Murray Jack who now assumes the role of chairman at the accounting firm.

Before taking over as chief executive, Mr Pippos was the firm’s managing tax partner and a member of the management group, having been in both roles since 1999.

Mr Pippos says he is looking forward to new challenges of leading the firm and its more than 800 national team, including 85 equity partners, located across five fully integrated offices.

“The business environment is more challenging than ever but still provides opportunities for our clients and the firm,” Mr Pippos says.

In his new role as chairman, Mr Jack will work closely with Mr Pippos and will also continue to assist clients as a senior consulting partner, in addition to his board roles on the FMA and NZICA.

Mr Pippose will lead a new executive line-up comprising Ross Milne, Matthew Hitch, Keith McArley and a new management group.
