Bruce Catley joins CBRE's South Auckland operation as their new managing director.

What’s the appointment? Bruce Catley has joined the CBRE team as managing director.

What’s the job she/he is leaving? Mr Catley had previously been involved in running a private consultancy business at Palladian Advisory Limited, advising investors and owners in property related matters.

What did his previous role require him to do? His previous role involved evaluating various acquisitions, evaluating sales, repositioning property and providing business advice around planning matters.

Where else has he previously worked? “I had previously worked for Richard Ellis around twelve to fourteen years ago where I began my career with Richard Ellis as a valuer for around eight or nine years. After that I worked with Trans Tasman Properties for another eight or nine years.”

So what does his current role consist of? At Mr Catley’s current role as managing director at CBRE South Auckland, his role consists of overseeing the South Auckland operation, which comprises of providing professional service evaluations to various clients.

How did he land his current position? “I was approached by the New Zealand managing director of CBRE, Brent McGregor, who offered me my current position after evaluating my previous work experience within the property industry,” said Mr Catley.  

What qualifications has she/he attained? Mr Catley is a registered property valuer and is an associate of the New Zealand Property Institute. “I have also earned a Degree in property which I attained at Auckland University.”

“I think that CBRE is a great team of people that are looking for some scope to further grow the business. I’ve always had a strong interest in property and took this as an opportunity to get back and get into a team of experienced and professional operators, as a good chance to see if we could continue to grow the business and build on my previous experiences.”
