Ports of Auckland has announced two new services linking New Zealand to Australia and South East Asia.
In a press statement this afternoon, the Auckland Council-controlled port company says the new services, which begin next month, are MSC’s Capricorn service, the company's main service to New Zealand which already calls at a number of New Zealand ports, and the recently formed Kiwi International Express (KIX), a new vessel-sharing arrangement between ANL, APL and Hanjin Shipping.
Ports of Auckland chief executive Tony Gibson says while Auckland has traditionally been import dominant the two new services offer great export potential.
The first Capricorn service vessel will call at Auckland on September 5, while the KIX service will call from September 24.
