“If anyone has seen The West Wing, this 757 does not quite match the glamour of Air Force One,” wrote One News’ Jessica Mutch on her blog.
“There is no boardroom in the centre of the plane, and when Kevin Taylor (our version of The West Wing's CJ) gives a briefing, it's hard to hear him over the din of the engines.”
At least there was coffee for all.
But, on closer inspection, it appeared there was what those in the service call a snafu.
“Clearly there had been a military mix up and, devastatingly, tea and coffee had been stirred up together,” wrote the TV reporter.
As it happened, the Defence Force plane’s weather radar was broken, meaning the pilot had to more-or-less guess where to fly to avoid some bad weather.
A bumpy ride ensued.
So maybe it was just as well that “special” coffee was undrinkable.
