NZ defies ‘intense pressure’ on patenting software

The government has left software out of its pending patents legislation.
The Patents Bill, which has been languishing on a parliamentary order paper since 2008, is finally to go ahead after the government agreed to leave software uncovered.
That is a win for the local development
