NZ dollar hits record high against greenback

The New Zealand dollar has hit a new post-float high against the greenback, reaching 83.32USc yesterday before dropping back overnight.
At about 8.30am today the dollar was sitting at 82.45USc, near the day’s low of 82.38USc.
The Kiwi has also dipped against the pound, dropping to 51.34p this morning after hitting 51.76p earlier in the day.
It traded in a narrow band against the Euro, with a high of 57.26€c and a low of 57.08€c.
The New Zealand dollar also fell against the Australian dollar after rising following yesterday’s interest rate announcement by the Reserve Bank of Australia.
Although the RBA kept interest rates on hold, it indicated a more dovish outlook, saying “growth in 2011 is unlikely to be as strong as forecast.”
The Kiwi dropped to 77.11Ac this morning, down from 77.64Ac after the rates announcement.
