The OECD has cut its forecasts for the New Zealand economy over the next year.

Previously the OECD had New Zealand's GDP at 4.1% for next year, which was at the high end of forecasts (only one private sector economist was higher, and the average forecast was 2%).

The OECD now expects GDP growth of 2.5% next year.

The drop is part of the organisation's biannual review of world GDP: this latest update expects overall world growth to run at 3.4% next year, after a prediction of 4.6% in May.
