Vodafone NZ is offering $2 calls to any UK landline or mobile during THE OLYMPICS a "sporting activity" happening in July and August this year, the company said today.
See the full release below (power tip: if you're lucky enough to travel to London, 50 cents per megabyte, although still "cheap" by global roaming standards, still equates to $500 per gigabyte - which many would call an arm and a leg compared to the domestic rate of around $25 per gigabyte):
RAW DATA: Vodafone release
London calling – for only $2!
Vodafone customers wanting to feel part of this year’s sporting activity will be able to catch up with friends and family in the UK via landline or mobile for just $2, in a cheap as chips UK calling promotion launching this month.
From now until 30 September, fixed line customers will pay just $2 for a marathon two-hour-call from a Vodafone home phone to any UK landline – and only $2 for up to 20 minutes talk-time to any UK mobile.
Vodafone Prepay and On Account mobile customers can be part of the action too. Calls from a Vodafone mobile to any UK landline cost just $2 for 60 minutes – removing the hurdles associated with using a mobile for international calls.
Greg Campbell, Marketing Director, says: “If you can’t be there in person, this comes a very close second! Our latest calling offers give customers great value and the opportunity to stay on track with the latest news from London – without worrying about the cost.”
Vodafone On Account travellers lucky enough to be heading to the UK can take advantage of Vodafone’s winning roaming deals. From 24 July to 27 September, customers pay only $0.50 MB for data usage – so posting Facebook updates and keeping up with the latest news won’t cost an arm or a leg.
