Lower-cost active investment exists

While some investment trusts have high fees, many of the good ones have low fees.

A couple of weeks back I set out the argument that all investors have a responsibility to pay for the cost of price discovery. Everyone benefits from financial markets that are reasonably efficient, so it’s reasonable to expect all players to pay their fair share of the cost of achieving this
