The Prime Minister is used to getting an earful at public functions but things nearly got out of hand when a woman proposed poking her tongue into his ear.

John Key was asked about his Easter weekend and attendance at his college -- Burnside High School -- reunion, when he appeared on television yesterday.

He said a woman asked him during the evening "Can I kiss you?... Can I stick my tongue in your ear?"

His response: "Only if you want to get tasered... She didn't go for the tasering."
