A line of questioning regarding early childcare education took an unexpected turn yesterday when a reporter asked what the Prime Minister would do if he had another child.
“I’d be extremely worried,” Mr Key replied, “as I’ve had a vasectomy.”
As the crowded room of journalists sat in gobsmacked silence, the Prime Minister admitted that his statement was probably “too much information” and called for further questions.
“Did it hurt?” a male journalist enquired.
“Not overly, actually," came the response.
When asked if the surgery had been a budget cut, Mr Key said all he was willing to say on the topic was that it had been “highly successful”.
