The Prime Minister told the New Zealand Herald he had made it reasonably clear that he did not want to revert to being Opposition leader.
"I don't think it suits me as a person. I'm not a negative person and a lot of Opposition is negative."
Mr Key also indicated that the general election will be in late November or early December.
