Auckland Crown solicitor Simon Moore SC, Chief Justice Dame Sian Elias, close friend Sir Robert Jones and bankrupt property developer Terry Serepisos are among the mourners at Greg King's funeral today.
It is standing room only at the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul as mourners have been filing in to the church since about 10 o'clock.
The congregation will hear from MP Tony Ryall, Justice William Young, Mr Moore and QC Robert Lithgow.
Mr King's father Jeffrey will join with Dunedin-based QC Judith Ablett-Kerr to present a slideshow.
Singer Brooke Fraser will later perform the song Arithmetic before the funeral concludes.
Former All Black and close friend Bernie Fraser is to be one of Mr King's pall-bearers as is Sir Robert.
There is also a strong police presence at the funeral.

Wellington High Court has cleared its scheduled list ahead of lawyer Greg King’s funeral today.
Up to 1000 people are expected to attend Mr King’s funeral from 11 o’clock at the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul in Molesworth St.
The 43-year-old highly respected barrister was found dead next to his car in the suburb of Newlands last Saturday morning.
There were no suspicious circumstances and his death has been referred to the coroner.
A large representation of the legal fraternity is expected, and those likely to speak include Mr King’s wife and fellow lawyer Catherine Milnes-King, and MP Tony Ryall.
Last weekend Detective Inspector Paul Basham said Mr King was well known and respected by police staff and his death would be keenly felt by many.
Dozens of tributes have rolled in since then, with virtually everyone saying they respected Mr King’s work.
His final trial wrapped up on Wednesday last week.
Mr King’s client, Jonathan Ioata, was found guilty of killing Felipo Sipaia with a single punch to the head during a fight in Lower Hutt in April last year.
