Reserve Bank readies itself for unconventional monetary policy after cutting the OCR

New official cash rate in place for at least 12 months. Plus what the retail banks will do.

In response to the Covid-19 coronavirus the Reserve Bank has slashed the official cash rate to a historically low level of 0.25% from 1%.

In a statement today it said the rate would stay at 0.25% for at least the next 12 months. If it needed to take further action it said cutting the OCR further
