Private property investors accounted for 5.9% of New Zealand’s GDP two years ago, according to analysis by economic consultancy Infometrics.
In 2024, that came in at $24.8 billion of direct and indirect spending, of which almost half, or $10.7b, represented new builds. That’s from a total spend
