Public shut out of Ports of Auckland debate

Seventeen councillors vote against letting the public have a say about selling port business.

Aucklanders will not be getting a say on whether to split Ports of Auckland and sell its operations.

Only five Auckland councillors voted in favour of Christine Fletcher’s attempt to get the port’s structure into the long-term plan for consultation with the public.
